So I looked up the dates for Paradise Lost and Dante’s Inferno. Paradise lost wasn’t published until 1668. Dante’s Inferno was written in the 14th century which is closer to Vlad and Da Vinci but that really isn’t about Lucifer/Satan and his fall. Yes, he is in the 9th circle but not quite buying devotion due to that appearance. So I’m still really up in the air! Maybe there are other stories that are really known that the shows researchers found. I’m going to just chalk it up to the writers.
I think it would have been far more interesting if they had just given Vlad a better representation. I think their [Leo & Vlad] lives of abandonment and adversity would have given them a slight connection. ESpecially on war and ingenuity.

I finally watch the Afterbuzz and its given me a few more ideas. I agreed with the majority of the discussion but there were a few things that struck me different.
•The Assassin at the Door
The Buzz crew and most others thought this was shoddy assassin work. The rattling of the door handle was so loud it was distracting… But what if that was the point! It was loud. Too loud! What if the original plan was for Jake to get in and kill Liv or to get in and take her to her father to make her think Jake was taking her somewhere safe. The female assassin seemed a bit too surpised to me. if you’re a trained assassin you don’t just get surprised like that. You can’t be tgat sloppy and be a part of B6. And call me naive, but I have a hard time processing why a father would want to kill his daughter. Which brings me to the second thing…
•A Fitz/Rowan (Liv’s father) connection
Remember, Jake and Fitz served together at one point. In combat. On a secret mission that Cy couldn’t find the full details of. As we saw in Huck’s case, people are ‘recruited’ to be in B6. Is it possible that Fitz might have met Rowan, even been recruited? I agree with the gang that this thing of Rowan wanting to get between Fitz and Liv seems personal. I doubt so much time would be devoted to a Dad not liking his daughter’s boyfriend, married president though he is. Rowan seems like he would have way too much to do than to give this his free time. And when Rowan told Cyrus he’d ‘handle’ the situation if he didn’t, Cy might have been worried for Liv’s life but should he have been? Should he have been afraid for Fitz’s life?
As for who let the info slip about Liv and Fitz, I think it’s either Rowan or Mellie. She did seem oddly relieved even a bit smug. But that could just be Mellie being Mellie. Rowan, goes right back to my connection idea. There’s something more than Fatherly dislike going on there.
Just my ideas. I would love to hear others! ^_^
In tonight episode Leo and his companions meet Vlad Tepes (Vlad Dracula III), the Impaler. I was kind of excited because I have two of my historical interests in one show! But… I really didn’t like Vlad’s portrayal. Artist/writer license, of course, but it didn’t really go well with me. I guess it really through me off. Don’t get me wrong, Vlad was more than likely a bit off his rocker but to make him a worshiper of Lucifer… Kinda through me off. Everything I’ve read about him said he was a avid catholic. It also made me wonder about dates and times, which I hate doing while watching a show.
I was like, ” is this the time period where Lucifer was equated with Satan?’ ‘When was Paradise Lost written again?’
I haven’t looked it up yet but I’ll tell when I do. This things took me out of it for a bit because if Vlad’s only knowledge of Lucifer was from the Bible it would make no sense for him [Vlad] to make a pact with Lucifer. In the Bible, lucifer’s mention only once and it was kind of in passing. Not enough to sell your soul for. I can almost see an idolization but the definition of ‘tyranny’ isn’t the same as it is now, without the ‘evil, unjust’ connotation. I’m just confused there.
Vlad’s brutality and taste in entertainment was to be expected if you know anything about him. No shocker there. The cage was rather nifty. The shadows and lights bouncing of it were striking and rather beautiful. Don’t judge me… -_-
I think I preferred last weeks epi more.
I wish I had an iPad so I could get that app!!! Ugh…
